Assembly Materials Sourcing Manager

  • ​As a Component Sourcing Manager, you will be the primary category point of contact for supplier sourcing interactions and the lead on design for cost activities for assembly packaging.

  • Work with partners in shift-left cost initiatives to support best packaging cost design with supply risk mitigation and to build comprehensive view on sourcing strategies.

  • Participate in the development and implementation of category strategies and projects related but not limited to cost reduction initiatives, supply base optimization, and pricing/contract negotiation with Category Supplier Manager (CSM) and Operations Manager (OM).

  • Own the component material sourcing and supplier selection process

  • Perform or participate in commercial supplier qualification activities to ensure the commercial development of strategic suppliers together with CSM and OM

  • Serve as the center of knowledge on material supplier technical market information, design and cost and share knowledge with key stakeholders and members of the category teams to enable more effective execution and decision-making process

  • Provide market intelligence and price trends to relevant internal stakeholders on a disciplined schedule

  • Develop supplier sourcing strategy, perform RFP and collect information of potential supplier/sources

  • Lead decision-making process by using matrix with internal stakeholders on supplier selection  

  • Own and drive Design-for-Cost (DFC) initiatives on assembly materials

  • Utilize should-cost models developed by CSM that are benchmarked and relevant to the global marketplace

  • Build cost database of different choices and types of raw materials and process technology and BIC cost reference to assist team in making best cost selection in design

  • Incorporate supply risk mitigation considerations in selection of design and sources

  • Support dual sourcing as part of supply risk mitigation plan

  • Support technical and designers in NPI design review in making best cost selection 

  • Collaborate with Stakeholders to Deliver Strategic Solutions

  • Drive customer-centric approach to solving issues and representing Procurement

  • Maintain close interaction with business partners to ensure supplier-related needs are addressed

  • Manage conflict and build effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders

  • Provide advice to senior and executive management on strategic decisions related to the sourcing and DFC activities.
