Job description
Responsible for all purchasing activities for direct materials mainly for Singapore and for other locations.
Supplier selection for new product developments and processes, giving commercial advice to enable design for manufacturing.
Oversee and manage the RFQ process for products and services, review the specification together with the interfacing engineering department and analyze the requirements and decide on the fitting supplier or subcontractor and on the type of contract needed.
Perform cost or price analysis, including review of cost breakdown and develop negotiation strategies to achieve utmost results.
Act as owner of the suppliers to lead, support and manage escalations.
Requirements
Bachelor degree in Business Administration or related field or five (5) years of experience as strategic purchaser, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Demonstrated proficiency using Microsoft Office, Outlook, Excel, PPT.
Excellent negotiation skills in English and Chinese as candidate is expected to liaise with supplier in Chinese speaking countries.
Based in Singapore, willingness to travel (20-30%).
