Snr Manager, Comp Manufacturing Excellence
The Snr Manager, Manufacturing Excellence at Micron Technology Inc. is responsible for leading and executing a continuous improvement function providing strategic process quality, cost, time and resources consulting services to the Micron Memory Penang component operations organizations. This position will generate and initiate and manage the portfolio of projects to promote and strengthen business performance excellence, regulatory compliance, increase the “speed of the Business Process, reduce cost, increase quality, optimize resources and increase customer satisfaction. He/she works with various business processes and functions to achieve desired results through applying Lean/Six Sigma principles, as well as support ongoing project teams for effective process improvement and efficiency gains demonstrating process improvement knowledge and leadership. This position serves as a champion for quality, cost reduction, increase “speed” and optimize resources throughout the Backend department supporting management with development and deployment of the quality culture across the organization including management of communication, change management, training and documentation.
Responsibilities and Tasks

Manage Resources to Identify Improvement Areas

Support and assist the development of a continuous improvement framework, including methods and tools that can be sustained and documented policies and procedures

Manage business process improvement staff to ensure the application of Lean/Six Sigma methods to drive specific targeted project goals

Provide procedural, strategic and policy guidance to staff on assigned initiatives so that all options are considered for maximizing effective implementation and results
-
Partner with business and operation to understand their needs and challenges
-
Identify the expertise, skills and resources needed to execute and deliver the expected improvement in the areas of focus and interests

Lead process design and project implementation activities on the projects and processes on which the BECP PMO IE process improvement team is actively engaged

Define New Processes to Improve Business Performance

·Define, create, control and improve end-to-end business processes with a motive to automate and create more efficient processes wherever possible

Identify process improvement opportunities and develop solutions using Six-Sigma, Lean and other tools as appropriate

Identify immediate containment actions whenever the end to end process improvement delivery time is not acceptable

Measure and report financial ROI

Provide executive leadership reporting on status of all projects.

Prioritize and manage Business Process Improvement portfolio of projects, appropriately tracking success measures to effectively execute improvements, drive performance objectives and demonstrate value

Create metrics and quality reporting, analyses and audits for plans and programs to support continuous quality, cost, cycle time and resources improvement

Align Stakeholders to Common Strategy and Tactic

Establishes best practices and lessons learned as a means of furthering the maturation and development of the continuous improvement program

Communicate project and initiative updates to key stakeholder

Align and engage project team and process team

Mentor and coach Lean/Six Sigma Green/Black Belts

Drive Project and Process Development Timely Schedule

Ensure all assigned projects and deliverables are delivered on time and meet customer expectations

Work in close collaboration with the project management, process analyst and training groups in order to develop them know how as well as help them in getting the right allocations of Subject-Matter- Expert (SME) time and engagement

·Work in collaboration with System Process Engineering (SPE) group to ensure alignment of time and expertise availability of resources

Manage Human Resources

Support and contribute to developing, modifying, and executing company policies

Manage organizational structure, staffing, and culture

Supervise other managers and staff through coaching and succession planning

Lead staff meetings, department meetings, and department communications

Allocate staffing and hire to fill gaps

Monitor the performance of employees and provide ongoing performance feedback, mentoring, and growth opportunities

Create performance plans and conduct performance evaluations

Enforce HR workplace policies, procedures, and guidelines

Set and support workplace priorities

Drive accountability through clear communication, informal feedback, effective project management, and appropriate usage of metrics.

Energize the work force with continuous updates, monthly all hands meetings, and sharing status of actions, projects and task on hand via systematized dash boards.

Create people profiling to enable correct development plans for high potential and skilled work force (external and professional training and certification)
