Senior Staff Applications Engineer - Low Power Discretes

  • Define product requirements for all discrete products (Si, SiC, GaN) in the context of Low Power Switch Mode Power Supplies (LP SMPS) and align them across Infineon’s divisions

  • Act as the technical reference person in the division on LP SMPS topics

  • Identify market trends and articulate product and system value propositions for Infineon’s products in wide variety (industrial, general-purpose, home appliances & consumer) LP SMPS applications by collecting inputs from various sources (customers, trade shows, benchmarking, system architects)

  • Act as technical interface and support to our worldwide customers and accompany them through their design phase.

  • Define the needs for go-to-market promotion materials like evaluation boards, product positioning, application notes and simulation models

  • Contribute to technical documentation like datasheets, benchmarking, fighting guides, papers

  • Perform technical trainings to Infineon employees and customers

  • Represent Infineon at different external events


  • Master or Bachelor’s Degree in Power Electronics or similar

  • Understanding of the LP SMPS , principal players and associated legislation

  • Broad knowledge on power devices, drivers, controllers and sensors and their interaction

  • Solid knowledge (5+ years of experience) of SMPS architectures and topologies

  • Team player with capacity of conveying information to public with deferring needs

  • Fluent English skills, German is a plus
