HPS Partners is working with a rapidly-growing company to identify a motivated and collaborative individual with a solid background in Strategic Projects. Reporting to the VP, this permanent position is based in Penang, Malaysia. As a Strategic Project Senior Manager, you will be responsible for working with leadership teams to manage projects and programs including communication and change management. You will be responsible for managing, coordinating different programs to achieve the business goals and objectives. You will help to plan and prioritize resources needed to achieve the program results. You will assure accurate design and tracking of programs to predict results and outcomes critical to success. Analysis of program progress in terms of root cause analysis, pay-back assessment, risk, resources consumption, interdependencies and gaps are also key functions of the program manager responsibilities.
Responsibilities and Tasks
Understand short-term and long-term goals and how they relate to company goals.
Assist in driving program and project across various functions within the group using common methods & metrics.
Drives accountability through clear communication, informal feedback, effective project management and appropriate usage of metrics.
Develops metrics for benchmarking Project Performance
Prioritize and align Project/Program goals with counter-parts goals across departments.
Manage Program Teams and Stakeholders. Identify Stakeholders and manage expectations
Maintain program support through interaction with senior leaders. Provide ideas and recommendations to leadership on department initiatives.
Define scope, goals and deliverables that support business goals in collaboration with sponsors and stakeholders
Define alignment of programs to company strategic objectives
Estimate the resources and participants needed to achieve program goals
Plan and schedule program timelines and milestones using appropriate tools
Execute, Monitor/Control and Close Programs
Track program milestones and deliverables
Develop and deliver progress reports, proposals, requirements documentation, and presentations
Identify potential crises, and develop and execute resolution plans
Create an environment of motivation to foster team engagement
Provide periodic department updates to review status and future goals and objectives
Develop and promote technical expertise in the group by identifying skill gaps and propose technical trainings, attendance to conferences and seminars
Identify, develop, and implement organizational initiatives that drive benchmark culture
Know the competition; be aware of how strategies and tactics work in the market place
Foster an environment where innovative thinking and intelligent risk taking is promoted
Actively collaborate with global partners to reach aligned decisions
Bachelor’s Degree/master’s in engineering or Science discipline or equivalent work experience
Demonstrated success in a M1 or M2 position
Proven ability in project and/or program management
Good leadership skill in mentoring, managing the performance of teams and people development
Excellent analytical and good decision-making skills
Excellent interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to communicate effectively at all levels within the organization
Excellent teamwork and collaboration with other groups, internally and externally
Proven ability to plan and prioritize goals and objectives
Proven ability to multi-task and lead team to meet challenging deadlines and goals
