Job description

  • Definition of the overall Test Strategy of the project.

  • Overall planning of tests (esp. test goals, test objects, test efforts, resources and schedules) supported by the disciplines.

  • Representing the interface to the customer regarding all test activities.

  • Acting as an architect of a customized, project specific and smart test approach.

  • Obtain release of subproject related costs from Project Manager.

  • Smart test approach to cover new technologies / processes early on in order to minimize project risks.

  • Manage test coverage between R&D, AQL, Tier2 etc. smartly to minimize overlap and max. reuse of previous test results.

  • Incorporate cross project / platform testing possibilities to optimize lead times and expenditures per/for any given project.

  • Preparation of tests (esp. test infrastructure incl. coordination of procurement of additional test equipment, training).

  • Definition of test items and procedures.

  • Assure execution of test activities, tracking and reporting of test status.

  • Monitoring and optimization of overall test expenditures.

  • Verification of sufficient test related requirements tracing as defined in Requirement Management Plan (test coverage).

  • Ensure an adequate test concept as part of the Production Test Specification for mass production.

  • Independent reporting of test status, escalation of technical risks and problems.


  • Bachelor or Master degree in the area of production, mechanical, electrical or software engineering.

  • At least 3 years of experience in the field of automotive system & requirements engineering.

  • At least 1 project that was fully guided over project run time to achieve the required experience of a customer interface.

  • Good technical know­how in the area of automotive/embedded system.

  • Excellent knowledge of test process, test methods, techniques and tools.

  • Skills to estimate test tasks.

  • Knowledge and Experience regarding the Product Verification & Validation process.

  • Understanding of the organizations, products, systems, architecture, customer expectations, test setup and requirements.

  • Capability to analyze technical problems.

  • Planning and Organizing, including worldwide distributed and virtual teams.

  • Capability to take initiative.

  • Understanding of the customers and user needs and problems.
