Job description
The Public Affairs Director is responsible for developing and enhancing the reputation of Company to lead government relations activities, special events and engagements with a focus on business growth and outcome. You will be responsible in advocating Company’s objectives, policy positions and building relationships with key members of the federal, state, local municipal government offices. This role will be the ‘public face’ and key contact for Company in the Public sector with following responsibilities:
Working closely and building collaborative relationships with Business Leaders, Legal and Communication to achieve business goals and objectives.
Leading key projects, develop and maintain beneficial and proactive relationships with government agencies as the representative of Company Malaysia to obtain Government support for our business growth.
Driving growth relationships at the federal, state and local level and help develop brand trust in government agencies and communities that impact Company.
Encourage other team members to approach and work with relevant government departments to achieve a long-term collaborative relationship with government agencies.
Serve as a key person in advising site leadership, key stakeholders as well as team members regarding government and political issues.
Monitor news media and government sources for potential changes in regulatory and legislative areas to ensure Company reacts effectively and advises its team members of the resulting impact on their operations.
Owning, managing and maintain relationships with targeted stakeholders within various Ministries and agencies relevant to the business objectives.
Take lead role in managing and supporting Company’s foundation work in Malaysia.
Requirements
Demonstrated understanding of government relations and lobbying efforts.
Experience in a senior role where business management, networking and leadership skills were a core competency.
Rich knowledge and experience about government structure, system and process.
Able to collaborate effectively, drive results across multi-functional groups and work independently.
Strength in teamwork and humble team player with a positive sense of humor.
