The Opportunity
A leading semiconductor company is seeking an accomplished industry executive to lead and grow its regional business. This is a broad commercial and business leadership mandate with responsibility for translating technology leadership into sustainable revenue growth, deeper strategic customer relationships and increased market penetration. The General Manager will serve as a senior representative of the company in the region, working closely with customers and internal Business Units to identify emerging technology requirements, position differentiated solutions and convert opportunities into long-term commercial partnerships. Success requires an executive who combines commercial leadership, semiconductor industry depth, customer credibility and disciplined execution, along with the ability to lead effectively across a complex global matrix.
The Mandate
The General Manager will develop and execute a multi-year regional strategy aligned with key semiconductor technology and market inflections, including advanced nodes, advanced packaging and heterogeneous integration. The executive will be responsible for the full commercial lifecycle — from market and account strategy through pipeline development, forecasting, deal execution to cash collection. A central priority will be strengthening the company's position with strategic customers, securing new tool-of-record and design-in positions, and translating these wins into sustainable market-share and revenue growth. Equally important will be building a high-performing regional organization and creating strong alignment across Sales, Applications, Service, Marketing and the global Business Units.
Key Leadership Priorities
Accelerate Growth and Market Penetration Develop and execute the regional growth strategy, identifying the customers, technology transitions and market segments where the company can create differentiated value and expand its position.
The General Manager will:
Deliver annual operating plan commitments while pursuing above-market revenue and market-share growth.
Identify and secure strategic tool-of-record positions across priority customers and technology nodes.
Drive account penetration, design-ins, new product adoption and follow-on business in partnership with the Business Units.
Develop competitive displacement strategies and strengthen the company's position against established industry competitors.
Expand service attachment and lifecycle opportunities to create sustainable recurring revenue.
Anticipate customer investment and demand cycles and ensure regional readiness to support future ramps.
Deepen Strategic Customer Partnerships
Â
The General Manager will establish structured executive and technical engagement with strategic accounts, including Executive Business Reviews, Technical Review Meetings and roadmap discussions. S/he serves as a trusted senior-level partner to key customers, developing relationships that extend beyond individual transactions to encompass technology roadmaps, yield, productivity and cost. A critical measure of effectiveness will be the ability to understand customers' manufacturing and technology challenges and translate the company's capabilities into measurable business value, including yield improvement, cycle-time reduction and cost efficiency.
Drive Commercial and Operational Discipline
Create a highly predictable and accountable regional operating model across the entire business lifecycle. This includes:
Strengthening pipeline management and forecast accuracy.
Driving disciplined execution from opportunity through order, installation, qualification, acceptance and collection.
Establishing meaningful KPIs across Sales, Service and Applications.
Ensuring infrastructure and resources are aligned with customer ramps and field requirements.
Providing management with clear, data-driven perspectives on market developments, customer roadmaps, competitive activity, risks and opportunities.
Maintaining appropriate focus on ASP and gross-margin performance while pursuing growth.
Build and Lead a High-Performance Organization
Attract, develop and retain strong commercial, applications and service talent while creating a culture of accountability, collaboration and execution.
Â
The General Manager will set clear expectations, develop leadership capability and ensure that the organization has the structure, skills and resources required to support the company's regional ambitions. The executive will also hold relevant local directorship responsibilities and legal powers of attorney, ensuring that the company's entities operate in accordance with applicable local requirements.
Lead Across the Global Organization
The General Manager will operate in a highly matrixed environment and will therefore need to influence well beyond the boundaries of the regional organization. The successful executive will act as the principal integrator across regional teams and the global Business Units and Marketing organization. This requires the ability to build alignment around regional priorities, influence resource allocation, resolve competing priorities and ensure that customer commitments are supported by coordinated global execution.
Measures of Success
Performance will be assessed across a balanced set of commercial, customer, operational and organizational outcomes, including:
Sustainable revenue growth and market-share gains
Achievement of annual operating plan commitments
Strategic tool-of-record wins and design-in conversions
Increased penetration of priority accounts
Forecast accuracy and operating predictability
Gross-margin and ASP performance
Customer satisfaction and quality of strategic engagement
Growth in service attachment and recurring revenue
Organizational capability, engagement and retention
