The Innovation Scientist will focus on bringing new technologies to life through co-creation with partners, creation of functional industrial prototypes and working with early adopter customers to validate these prototypes.
Deliverables are prototypes with increasing maturity level. The prototype to be created can be significantly different from the company’s core business and a large portion of the work will also involve exploring disruptive business models.
Co-create with external partners.
Identify, collaborate, and partner with strategic partners, research institutions, and other companies.
Seek out and develop innovative new products, services and business models that significantly diverge from current company offerings and provide significant upside potential for value creation.
Develop forementioned fundamentally different prototypes and disruptive products and services which create new profitable business models and new value streams.
Scanning and scouting of new technologies to pursue innovative approaches and applications.
Operate with a startup mentality in terms of speed to market, focus on rapid prototyping and testing, and work with early adopter customers as soon as possible to get valuable market feedback.
Communicate results and opportunities on technical and management level.
Structuring and managing small projects or working bricks
File for IP as necessary to protect and enhance company’s IP portfolio.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Engineering degree (electronics, electrical, embedded systems, system engineering, software, chemical and material science, or mechanical) will be advantageous.
Embedded Software/System design and development experience.
Experience with embedded Linux is an advantage.
Embedded application research, development, hardware, and software experience.

Technology enthusiastic and interested in adjacent technologies and scientific disciplines.
Outstanding critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
Thorough understanding of basic scientific process and engineering principles.
Proficient with all related software programs used for testing and reporting.
