
Job description
The Public Affairs Manager plays a pivotal role in shaping and bolstering the client's company image, with a specific emphasis on advancing business growth. This involves spearheading government relations initiatives, overseeing special events, and engaging with key stakeholders at the federal, state, and local government levels. Acting as the client's company representative in the Public sector, the manager is entrusted with championing the organization's objectives and policy positions. Building and nurturing relationships with influential figures in government offices is a key aspect of the role.
Responsibilities:
Foster strong collaboration and cultivate cooperative relationships with Business Leaders, Legal, and Communication teams to realize business objectives.
Take the lead on crucial projects and establish and nurture advantageous relationships with government agencies, acting as the representative of Company Malaysia to secure government support for business expansion.
Develop growth-centric relationships at federal, state, and local levels, contributing to the establishment of brand trust in government agencies and communities that impact the company.
Motivate team members to engage with relevant government departments, encouraging the establishment of lasting collaborative connections with government agencies.
Provide key advice to site leadership, key stakeholders, and team members on issues related to government and politics.
Keep a vigilant eye on news media and government sources for potential changes in regulatory and legislative areas, ensuring Company responds effectively and advising team members on resulting impacts.
Take charge of, manage, and uphold relationships with targeted stakeholders within various Ministries and agencies aligned with business goals.
Assume a leading role in overseeing and supporting the Company's foundation work in Malaysia.
Requirements
Proven comprehension of government relations and lobbying efforts.
Substantial experience in a senior role emphasizing core competencies in business management, networking, and leadership skills.
Extensive knowledge and practical experience in government structure, systems, and processes.
Capable of effective collaboration, achieving results across diverse functional groups, and demonstrating independent work capability.
Strong aptitude for teamwork, characterized by humility and a positive sense of humor.
