Job description
The R&D Director leads innovation and technology development, transforming ideas into marketable products through strategic leadership and structured processes. The role focuses on driving research excellence, strengthening IP creation, and ensuring alignment between technology strategy and business growth.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and execute the company’s R&D and innovation roadmap.
Build a structured process for ideation, development, and commercialization.
Lead and mentor cross-functional teams to foster creativity and innovation.
Identify emerging technologies and translate them into business opportunities.
Drive product-to-market initiatives in collaboration with marketing and operations.
Strengthen the company’s IP portfolio through patents and proprietary technologies.
Oversee R&D budgets, performance metrics, and stakeholder engagement.
Requirements
Degree in Engineering, Science, or related discipline; advanced degree preferred with more than 10+ years of R&D or innovation leadership, ideally in semiconductor or high-tech manufacturing.
Proven success in new product development and IP generation.
Strong analytical, strategic, and people leadership capabilities.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
Fluent in English; other Asian languages an advantage.
Willingness to travel and thrive in dynamic, fast-paced environments.
