Job description
The Senior/ Principal Controls Engineer will develop, commission and support high-volume automated manufacturing equipment and assembly systems. The role involves automation software development, machine integration, production support, process optimization and continuous improvement in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
Design, develop and commission automated assembly and test equipment.
Develop PLC, HMI and motion control software for manufacturing systems.
Prepare electrical drawings, control architecture and machine documentation.
Support equipment installation, production ramp-up and factory acceptance activities.
Troubleshoot automation equipment, identify root causes and implement corrective actions.
Maintain and improve existing automation systems to enhance productivity and reliability.
Develop data collection methods and process control strategies to improve equipment performance.
Integrate automation equipment with factory information systems and third-party devices.
Drive continuous improvement projects
Work with cross-functional teams, suppliers and manufacturing personnel
Requirements
Experience supporting automated manufacturing equipment and complex automation projects.
PLC programming, HMI development, SCADA, MES integration, pneumatics and servo motion systems.
Siemens and/or Mitsubishi PLC platforms and industrial HMI development.
Knowledge of servo motion control, industrial robotics and automated machine commissioning.
Familiarity with factory data collection systems and communication protocols.
