Job description
Our client is seeking a Senior / Principal Process Engineer to support process transfer, scale-up, qualification, and continuous improvement for high-volume manufacturing operations in Penang, Malaysia. The role will serve as a technical lead on the factory floor and work closely with Manufacturing, Equipment, Quality, Supply Chain, and global engineering teams.
Key Responsibilities
Lead process transfer from development to mass production.
Drive production ramp readiness, qualification builds, yield stabilization, and process window validation.
Define and implement SPC strategy, CPK targets, process monitoring systems, SOPs, control plans, and engineering documentation.
Support tool design, installation, FAT/SAT, buy-off, and line commissioning.
Partner with global AME teams and equipment vendors to improve equipment performance and process capability.
Lead root-cause investigations using 8D, DMAIC, DOE, and other structured problem-solving methods.
Drive yield improvement, scrap reduction, cycle time optimization, risk mitigation, and cost-down initiatives.
Communicate clearly across Manufacturing, Quality, Supply Chain, Engineering, and global teams.
Requirements
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical, Materials, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field with 6+ years of experience in high-volume manufacturing.
Strong understanding of mechanical systems, material behavior, process control, SPC, CPK, DOE, and variability reduction.
Experience with root-cause analysis, failure investigation, production ramp, equipment qualification, and NPI-to-mass-production transition.
Strong English communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.
