Senior Manager – Equipment Engineering (Final Test)

Job description

Lead and oversee a team of equipment engineers to ensure the efficient operation of final test equipment, achieving targets for product delivery and Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE), including cycle time, yield, and capacity, while upholding quality and safety standards.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Team Leadership: Manage and guide the equipment engineering team, ensuring smooth operations and achieving performance targets.

  • Operational Support: Provide engineering support to resolve daily operational issues in collaboration with equipment, process, and product engineers, manufacturing supervisors, and technicians.

  • Issue Resolution: Lead systematic troubleshooting and root cause analysis for manufacturing issues, implementing immediate containment actions and long-term corrective solutions.

  • Standardization and Improvement: Develop equipment specifications, troubleshooting and maintenance procedures, and drive continuous improvement activities to meet corporate and regulatory standards.

  • Efficiency and Quality Initiatives: Drive and implement initiatives to improve efficiency, quality, and yield in partnership with cross-functional teams, including Production, Planning, Procurement, Industrial Engineering, Quality, and Facilities.

  • Maintenance Oversight: Lead the equipment maintenance team to enhance equipment performance, conduct analyses, and manage both preventative and unscheduled maintenance.

  • Performance Management: Set performance objectives, conduct reviews, and recommend pay actions.

  • Cross-Disciplinary Collaboration: Address issues impacting multiple teams, leveraging knowledge of related disciplines and adapting departmental plans to meet resource and operational challenges.

Requirements

Experience:

  • Minimum 10 years in final test equipment within the semiconductor industry, assembly, or relevant automation fields, with at least 5 years in a managerial role.

  • At least 5 years of experience in high-volume manufacturing environments, preferably with high-precision automated manufacturing.


Technical Knowledge:

  • Extensive knowledge of high-end automation design principles, capital manufacturing equipment, metrology, testers, instrumentation, data analytics, PLC, automation scripting, and software.

  • Strong background in Six Sigma, data-based process performance analysis, and operational excellence tools such as Lean Manufacturing, FMEA, 8D, PDCA, DMAIC, and SPC.


Skills:

  • Strong analytical and project management skills with a proven ability to drive continuous improvement initiatives.

  • Experience with SAP and/or major ERP/MRP systems and processes.

  • Technically proficient with a strong desire to build technical competency.

  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to engage effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
