Job description
Our client is looking for a Senior Mechanical Engineer to join their Advanced Manufacturing Engineering team. This position focuses on developing custom equipment, tooling, and automated systems to support product development and manufacturing operations.
Key Responsibilities
Design and build custom fixtures and automated equipment, from concept through prototyping and fabrication
Perform mechanical analysis (e.g., stress, motion, thermal) to validate and optimize designs
Work closely with process teams to translate requirements into practical, production-ready solutions
Develop and execute test plans to validate performance and reliability of new equipment
Create detailed CAD models, drawings, and bills of materials to support fabrication and assembly
Troubleshoot mechanical issues during pilot and production phases
Ensure compliance with safety standards and support handoff to manufacturing and suppliers
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline
5+ years of experience in a mechanical engineering role within a manufacturing or industrial environment
Strong proficiency in 3D CAD software (SolidWorks preferred); experience with additional tools is advantageous
Demonstrated hands-on experience designing and supporting automated or industrial systems
Solid understanding of mechanical systems design, including component selection and integration
Experience operating machine shop equipment such as mills, saws, and drill presses
