Job description
Our client is seeking a Senior Process Engineer to support the development of lithium-ion batteries. This role involves process and material development for battery assembly and packaging, including qualifying new processes, overseeing builds, analyzing data, ensuring safety compliance, and transitioning processes to large-scale production.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop processes that achieve performance goals while managing design trade-offs.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to create scalable processes for new battery designs.
Select and qualify components to ensure product reliability and performance.
Conduct experiments using DOE methodologies and analyze results.
Implement SPC and establish Process Capability (Cpk).
Perform FMEA and root cause analysis to address design and production challenges.
Manage project timelines and deliver data-driven insights to stakeholders.
Maintain and update documentation in line with quality management standards.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, Mechanical Engineering, or related fields (Master’s/Ph.D. preferred, with 10+ years of experience).
Strong skills in process data analysis, project management, and communication.
Familiarity with SPC, DOE, FMEA, and similar methodologies.
Experience in lithium-ion battery development and scaling R&D processes to high-volume manufacturing.
Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills.
