Job description
We are seeking a Staff CAD Engineer to join our client global design team. This role focuses on EDA compute infrastructure, CAD tool optimization, and flow efficiency. You will work closely with design engineers and IT teams to build and maintain a scalable, high-performance environment for complex analog, digital, and mixed-signal semiconductor projects.
Key Responsibilities
Manage and optimize EDA compute and storage infrastructure to support chip design flows.
Develop and maintain license and hardware resource monitoring systems.
Build benchmark and QA frameworks to validate design flows and guide datacenter hardware specifications.
Enhance tool performance by tuning CPU, GPU, and storage architectures.
Design load balancing strategies and enable cloud bursting for peak workloads.
Partner with IT on infrastructure planning to improve engineering productivity.
Collaborate with global design teams and EDA vendors to resolve tool issues and drive improvements.
Requirements
B.S. or M.S. in Electrical/Computer Engineering or related discipline.
Expert knowledge of Linux environments and scripting (Tcl, csh, bash).
Strong Python development skills, including GUI programming (Python/Qt).
Experience with EDA tools (Cadence, Synopsys, Siemens) across flows such as:
RC extraction, physical verification
Analog/RF simulation
Packaging and SI/PI analysis
RTL design/verification
SoC physical design
Strong communication and organizational skills, with ability to drive CAD projects across distributed teams.
