Job description
Responsible for the smooth running of SCM section and ensuring effective supervision and oversight on inventory control processes at three manned PowerAssets / Power Gas warehouses, four unmanned warehouses as well as those managed by external vendors. Inventory under SCM’s custodianship includes cables and ducts, transformers, switchgears, as well as spare parts and miscellaneous accessories.
Responsible for the efficient control of all inventory items and accuracy of the records through conducting regular stock counts, annual review of slow-moving inventory, proper write-off of inventory with appropriate justifications in accordance with Delegation of Authority.
Responsible for planning to ensure optimal stock inventory, striking a balance between ensuring sufficient stock balance to meet the demands of the businesses supported, optimising holding levels for the inventory to optimise warehouse space and lowest delivery costs.Â
Responsible for the disposal and sale of scrap materials including cables and decommissioned equipment as well as the proper monitoring and tracking of the contracts with scrap dealers.
Ensure zero loss in inventory through the use of effective physical and system security mechanism such as regular review of access control system, regular key counts, 24/7 CCTV operations.Â
Ensure zero safety incidents in warehouse operations through the implementation and enforcement of effective safe work procedures and compliance with WSH Act and regulations.Â
Ensure compliance to the Store Operating Manual (SOM) at all times and conduct regular review of the SOM and IT systems as part of continuous improvement to enhance the efficiency of store operations.
Plan, maintain, and upgrade warehousing facilities to meet current and future needs.

Requirements
Degree in Logistics or Supply Chain Management or equivalent.
At least 10 years of relevant experience in warehouse operations & inventory management.
Proven ability to manage a large team of staff & contractors and handle tri-partite relations with the Union.
Experience in using and implementing tools such as LEAN, Kaizen techniques to achieve productivity improvements.
Strong leadership, interpersonal skills and be able to work and manage staff and contractors from different walks of life.
Good written and oral communication skills and ability to get buy-in across multiple stakeholders in a functional matrix organisation.
