Samsung Electronics union in South Korea declares strike
A workers' union at Samsung Electronics in South Korea said on Monday it would launch a general strike until its demands for better pay and time off were met, warning of more damaging action against the country's most powerful conglomerate than its one-day walkout last month.

Singapore factory output beats forecasts with 2.9% rise in May on electronics rebound
SINGAPORE – Singapore’s manufacturing output turned positive in May, fuelled by a rebound in the key electronics sector.
Total output grew a better-than-expected 2.9 per cent year on year in May, after a revised 1.2 per cent drop in April and the 9.2 per cent contraction suffered in March.
Economists in a Bloomberg poll had predicted a 1.4 per cent expansion.

Foxconn to invest $518 million in Vietnam circuit board plant: Report
HANOI - Foxconn Singapore has been awarded a licence to invest US$383 million (S$518 million) in a factory to produce printed circuit boards in Vietnam, state media reported on June 24.
The plant in the northern province of Bac Ninh will produce 2.79 million products a year, Cong Thuong newspaper reported.
